CPSO’s Out-of-Hospital Premises Inspection Program (OHPIP) sets standards for and inspects facilities performing procedures requiring the use of anesthesia and sedation.
The existing Program Standards are being revised to enhance their utility and more clearly convey the expectations for OHPs and the physicians who work within them.
Substantive changes have been made to ensure that the new draft OHP Standards are more principle-based, refer to existing external standards and guidelines where appropriate, and better support physicians’ professional judgment.
Companion Advice to the Profession documents have also been developed to clarify expectations within the OHP Standards, along with a Program Overview that captures details about the OHP Program.
We want you to help us refine these new draft OHP Standards and Advice documents before they’re finalized.
