Congratulations to your office for finding another way to MAKE MONEY. We must all treat our physicians as fat cows and retirement funds as we cannot count on the government to provide for our leisurely work at or after CPSO. I am surprised that your office is not thinking of $10,000 at least for the fees, must keep the assessors fed.
Despite physician fees going down CPSO fees keep on going up year after year.
The CPSO will pass these fee increases despite members opposition anyway. So much for “self-regulation.”
It would honestly be better if physicians were regulated directly by a government agency, as is the case in many US states. Why call it self-regulation when it isn’t that anyway.
This is a misguided policy that may be perceived as a COI thus: that the CPSO could “profit” by recommending reassessments. In addition, the core value of the CPSO is to ensure that quality assurance is maintained, even if remediation and more scrutiny is required. In my view, the entire membership should bear the costs of supporting this value. After all, what are those due increases meant to support? I should clarify that I approve of fees for physician education and remediation however. Thanks for soliciting feedback.
By changing the fees of OHPIP to each clinic rather than each doctor at an OHPIP, you have effectively shut down smaller clinics and responded to the more powerful doctors at the large clinics driving down their fees substantially.
THis is waste of resources and majority of the body does not agree to this proposed increase.
CPSO fee keeps going up year after year…. are you suggesting those fat cats in the ivory tower are greedy for more and more money, hire more and more of their croonies ?
It is self regulatory body, because it is a self promoting body.
What exactly am I paying fees for?
To charge for an age related peer assessment, is an insult!
After paying college fees for almost 50 years,I never ceased to be amazed at how the bureaucracy has bloated at the expense of its members.
I hate to tell you, but we are not an Unlimited resource.
I wonder what the ‘administrative cost’ covers and if there is an upper limit to what the “+” is. It seems rather nebulous and open ended to me and just does not feel right
